The nightlife of Budapest has a lot to offer. We tried (probably way too many) good bars and these are three of the best ones:

Szimpla Kert

You haven’t had the real Budapest experience if you haven’t had a drink in one of the famous ruin bars. Szimpla Kert is certainly the most popular one and that isn’t very surprising. It was the first ruin bar in Budapest and it’s located in the Jewish Quarter along with many other bars and restaurants. Szimpla hosts many events like live music, an art gallery, the Kazinczy Living Library, the Szimpla Farmers' Market, and the Szimpla Bringa bicycle flea market. There are also many different bars where you can find your favorite drink at an affordable price. So we promise you won’t get bored at Szimpla.

One thing you should keep in mind: If you want to visit the bar on the weekend you should try to go early, because it fills up quickly.

360 Bar

If you like rooftop bars, you should definitely visit the 360 Bar when you’re in Budapest. You will get amazing views over the city, especially if you come to see the sunset. The bar offers a wide range of signature cocktails and wine and they regularly host events with live music and DJs. The prices of the cocktails range from 2150 HUF to 2950 HUF (ca. 5,85€ to 8€) and if you’re hungry you can order from a selection of different bistro foods or main courses like burger or salads (approximately 2650 HUF to 3650 HUF / 8 to 10€).

Even if you visit Budapest in the Winter you can still enjoy drinks on the rooftop without freezing. They set up Igloos with heaters that fit up to 10 persons. It is a unique and fun experience that you should definitely try!

Black Swan

Are you looking for a special location for your date? Then you should visit the Black Swan Bar in the Jewish quarter. The upscale cocktail bar offers exceptional cocktails and high-end spirits. The little bar has a very special atmosphere

The prices are a bit more on the higher end as cocktails start at 3990 HUF up to 9900 HUF (ca. 11€ to 27€). The bar makes you feel like you go back in time and if you want a little bit more privacy you can book the Negroni Vintage Group for a bigger group of friends. Black Swan also hosts events where they create an atmosphere of the speakeasy bars of the 1920s.

As the place is pretty small and very popular, you should definitely make a reservation in advance. You can simply book a table online on their website.
