There are so many tasty restaurants in Budapest, we had a hard time to only recommend a few of out favorites... They are all different in some way, but every single one is delicious and worth to visit!
1. Mazel Tov
If you're searching for the perfect combination of middle eastern food / Israëlisch, a relax atmosphere and some live music, we would definitely recommend Mazel Tov. It's a famous and loved restaurant, so it's better to make a reservation in front. If you don't have a reservation, you will have to wait a long time before you get a table. Believe us, we've been there... It has a big hall with lights everywhere, nice decorations and during the weekends there is live music too!

2. Kiosk
This is also one of our favorite places to go! During summer you can sit outside with all of your friends to just enjoy a drink or eat a pizza from their Italian outside oven. Of course it's also possible to order the other things from their special menu that exists of both classic European as Hungarian recipes! When you have a seat inside you will be amazed by the beautiful architecture of the building and the nice decorations. We would really recommend you to taste their Hungarian dessert "Kiosk poppy seeds", which you can also see on the picture below, because it tastes like heaven on your tongue!

3. Bella di mama
If you're a really big pizza lover, this is the place to go! For us, these are the best pizza's in town. They don't only look amazing, their taste is even better! If you're not in a pizza mood, but your friends are, we can also recommend the lasagne because yummy... And we also hope there is some space in your belly left, because the tiramisu is kind of big but realy delicious!

4. Cirkusz
When you are looking for the number one favorite lunch spot from most of the Erasmus students, you are reading the right post! Cirkusz always has this amazingly long line of people waiting to get a table at this amazing place. They don't work with reservations, so if you're planning on having a brunch on Sunday morning, you have to wait for an hour or two... But, when you see the plates, smell the taste of the food en taste the food, you will be in foodheaven and won't regret it at all! When you don't like waiting, you can also go after 1 p.m.! Our all time favorite is the french toast with fruit and maple syrum. If you look at the pictures, you will understand why we recommend this place so much...

v Location: Dob u. 25, 1074 Budapest
v Special recommendation: pulled pork benedict, avo toast with beetroot hummus and french toast with fruit and maple syrup
5. Drum Café
When you're in Budapest, you can also choose for a more traditional, and really cheap Hungarian restaurant. This is a languish and goulash bar, with a lot of traditional recipes. You will be able to eat and drink for €6! But we can also give you an important tip for this place: don't forget to give a big tip. When you don't do this, the staff will say something about it. In Hungary it's polite to give a tip, because otherwise you show that you where not pleased with the food or the service.

v Price category: €
v Location: Dob u. 2, 1072 Budapest
v Special recommendation: starter: homemade goulash soup with dumplings and warm soft bread, main course: chicken stew, dessert: somló dumplings
